A large size of population in Pakistan is deprived of the basic necessities of life. However, there is a silver lining on the darkening sky in the form of NGO’s like HOPE. HOPE – An NGO in Pakistan has been doing philanthropic activities since the beginning of Ramadan so that even the less privileged ones can enjoy the festivities of Ramadan and Eid.
Along with Eid clothes, iftar and biryanidistribution, HOPE team has also been distributing ration bags to the needy families during the month of ramadan.
Ration bags were distributed among the poor and needy students in Bilal colony, also among the needy students and patients in Zia Colony Formal School and Hospital.Communities residing in far flung areas across Karachi, which includes,Ghaggar, Bhens colony, Link road and Dhabeji etc. were providedwith ration bags.
HOPE-A Health NGO in Pakistan distributes rations among the poor every year throughout Ramadan. The teams were sent to distribute the ration bags among the needy households at various HOPE centers including hospitals and schools, where the vans filled with food items and ration bags were sent to different slum areas of Karachi, rural areas of Sindh, Thatta, Sujawal, Muzaffargarh and Azad Jammu and Kashmir for distribution among needy households. Recently food items and ration bags were distributed at the door steps of needy families to avoid hurting their feelings. More than 1500 ration bags were distributed among the needy families residing there.
The team will continue to distribute ration till the end of Ramadan. The children and patients are delighted to receive the ration as they belong to the low-income class who cannot even afford to buy basic grocery and enjoy their Ramadan and Eid. Seeing the innocent smiles on the faces of the children is extremely gratifying and it affirms our belief that all the efforts, the hassle, the obstacles are worth going through just to see a smile on the faces of these children who can’t afford to enjoy the festivity of Ramadan and Eid to its fullest. These activities are carried out under the supervision of Dr. MubinaAgboatwalla - A child specialist in Karachi who is also the chairperson of HOPE.
